Pakistan Cricket Board: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing to take a unique and big step to overcome the biggest weakness of its batsmen. Keeping in view the demands of the modern era in T20 and limited overs cricket, PCB is considering sending its selected players to America for special training in ‘power-hitting’. So that their players can also hit big shots in T20 format, like India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma do.
Weakness of Pakistani players will be removed in USA
For some time now, in limited overs cricket, Pakistani batsmen have been accused of playing slowly and not being able to hit big shots. Especially in the matter of scoring runs quickly in the middle and death overs and hitting sixes as per their wish, the Pakistani team has lagged far behind the other top teams. To overcome this weakness, PCB has decided to deviate from the traditional methods and send players directly to America, so that they can take advantage of the modern sports technologies and training facilities there.
Under this scheme, players can be sent to high-performance centers in America, where the power-hitting mechanisms of baseball and other sports are used to improve the shot selection and body alignment of the cricketers. Along with this, during this camp, players can also get a chance to practice under the supervision of the world’s best power-hitting coaches, so that they can learn to clear the boundary easily even in pressure situations. However, the official outline and schedule of which players will be selected for this camp and when this tour will start is yet to be announced.
Mike Hesson gave information about the plan
Pakistan coach Mike Hesson told Cricinfo that we are sending some players to America. There are players who specialize in power hitting, and we are looking at some options. We have some players who have been injured for a long time, and there are some players whom we want to introduce to different methods of power hitting and a different learning environment, so that they can stay at one place for four months and learn something new.
