Former captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar has given interesting advice to BCCI for the preparation of World Cup 2027. Sunil Gavaskar believes that BCCI should increase the size of the boundary in the home series. According to Gavaskar, World Cup 2027 is to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia where the boundaries are long. In such a situation, the size of the boundary should be increased in India also for the strategy of scoring runs there. According to Gavaskar, this shock will also be beneficial in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in 2028.

Sunil Gavaskar Wrote in his column on Sports Star, ‘When the new season of Indian cricket starts, it is necessary to increase the size of the boundary so that the attacking batsmen get used to it before next year’s World Cup. There is a lot of empty space behind the boundary in almost every ground, that space should be used to increase the size of the boundary. Let us tell you that due to the large boundary, players will think twice before playing aerial shots. Besides, he will also get practice in hitting long sixes. Team India, which recently went on Zimbabwe tour, could not hit many sixes in three T20 matches. Maximum 9 sixes came from the bat of Vaibhav Suryavanshi which is very less as per his talent. The question is whether BCCI will accept this opinion of Sunil Gavaskar?
Gavaskar’s advice to Indian batsmen
Gavaskar advised the batsmen of the Indian ODI team that a different approach is needed to achieve success in the ODI format. He said, ‘There is a need to play cricket wisely in the ODI World Cup. That bowler should be identified who does not need to be countered. Then target those bowlers against whom you can play better. Not all five bowlers in any team in the world are top. In such a situation, there are always 10-12 overs in which runs can be scored quickly. Let us tell you that before Sunil Gavaskar, Sanjay Manjrekar had also advised to increase the boundary.

Recently Team India lost the ODI series from England. In the ODI series held in England, the Indian team lost the series by 1-2.
