Ashish Sood also supported NCERT’s decision to include a new chapter on Emergency in the Class 9 book. He said that the new generation should know how people’s rights were affected during the Emergency. According to him, knowledge of such events in history helps in understanding democratic values and the importance of freedom of expression.
