Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is on the cusp of an India call-up and he could get selected in the national team for the Ireland T20I series, scheduled to take place in the last week of June.
Sooryavanshi created history and became the youngest to win the Orange Cap by piling up 776 runs in 16 innings. He batted at an average of 48.50 and hit a century and five sixes in his knock. Vaibhav, 15, will become the youngest play international cricket for India. It’s a well-known fact that Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for being the youngest debutant for India. The Master Blaster was 16 when he played his first Test and ODI.
While Sachin holds this record in the two formats, he isn’t India’s youngest debutant in T20I. He only played one T20I. Sachin was 33 years old when he played his maiden T20I.
Washington Sundar holds the record for being India’s youngest T20I debutant. He played his first T20I as a batter to make his T20I debut aged 18 years and 80 days. He made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2017. His nine-year-old record will be broken if Sooryavanshi plays his first international cricket before the next two years.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is part of India A

Vaibhav has already made it to the India A squad and he will join the team in the tri-series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan. Irrespective of his performance for India A, Sooryavanshi is likely to get selected for the Ireland and Zimbabwe T20I series.
The regulars are likely to get rested for these two series. At India A, he will be play under Tilak Varma’s captaincy. He will be assisted by Ruturaj Gaikwad. Riyan Parag, the original vice-captain, has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury he suffered during IPL 2026.
