Shubman Gill-led India will host Afghanistan in a one-off Test and three ODIs from June 6 to 20. The one-off Test will be played in Mullanpur from June 6 to 10. This will be the second Test between the two teams.
Afghanistan made their Test debut against India in 2018 in Bengaluru. India famously won the Test match in two days. Eight years later, an experienced Afghanistan team will aim to challenge the two-time World Test Championship runners-up.
Following the red-ball game, the two teams will lock horns in three ODIs. The three white-ball games will be played on June 13, 17 and 20 in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai, respectively.
The ODI series will mark Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s return to international cricket. They are now only active in the ODI format. The series doesn’t include T20I. will return to India in September and “host” the Men in Blue in three ODIs in Delhi.

Shubman Gill will lead India in both formats. The selectors made a big change in the leadership group in Test cricket and removed Rishabh Pant from vice-captaincy. KL Rahul has made his return to the leadership group.
Rishabh was also dropped from the ODI team as Ishan Kishan made his return for the first time since 2023. Rohit and Hardik Pandya will have to prove their fitness before joining the ODI team.
