The city of Bhangarh and its fort is located 118 km from Jaipur. It is one of the most ghostly places in the country. This fort was built by Raja Madho Singh, younger brother of Amer’s Mughal commander Man Singh in the 17th century, but now this place is deserted. The remains of havelis, temples and deserted markets stand in the form of ruins in the fort’s premises. No one goes here after sunset in the evening. It is said that there are extraordinary activities in the dark. Despite this, tourists come to see this beautiful fort. The strange thing of the fort will surprise you that there is no roof of any house built here. The entire structure of the house is built, but none of them have roof. Local people say that the roof of the houses is not because whenever they make the roof, it falls. The child here knows that Balunath is cursed on it.

So many stories that historians are also confused
Historian Dr. Reema Ahuja spoke in the show ‘solitude’ released on the OTT platform Discovery Plus. He said that there are so many stories about Bhangarh, so many legends that it is difficult for the common people to say where history starts and where it ends. Historians also have problems. She says that some stories are very old. Some ghost stories come. Someone cursed a king or princess. Rima says that many times we see that people have more curiosity about these things. Because of this, such stories are in circulation. However, no one knows the whole truth.
Story of Saint Balunath and Maharaja
Maharaja Madho Singh of Bhangarh was a devotee of Sant Balunath. Balunath asked the Maharaja to build a cave to do penance. The Maharaja immediately agreed and built a cave. Balunath went to do penance in that cave. But the priests of the court started burning with the relationship between Maharaj and Sant Balunath. The priests made a plan to separate the two. He killed a cat and threw it inside the cave. After two days, when the bad smell of the cat began to spread from the body, the priests told the king that Saint Balunath had died in the cave.
Then the saint cursed destruction
Maharaja Madho Singh was very sad after getting this information. They went to the cave, but could not go inside due to bad odor. He ordered the closure of the cave. On the other hand, when the penance of Saint Balunath was completed, he saw that his way to get out was closed. After this, Saint Balunath became angry and cursed Bhangarh to be completely destroyed. No one knows what happened after this, but Bhangarh was completely destroyed. The roofs of the houses fell. Local people say that from that day till date, whenever the roof of houses is built here, it falls.
Saint’s tomb is built in the forest
On realizing his mistake, the king made the saint’s tomb.
The tomb of sand Nath in the forest behind the fort remains even today.
Historians do not confirm the existence of a saint of this name.
Historians believe that Balak was a saint named Nath.
However, it is not known in which period and which area they belonged to.
There are many temples in the Nagar style here

There are many temples at the main gate of the fort, of which are Gopinath Temple, Someshwar Temple, Keshav Rai Temple, Mangala Devi Temple and Ganesh Temple. These temples built in Nagar style are the best examples of the 17th century architecture and craftsmanship. It is said that this palace was seven storey, but now only four floors are left.
Story of Princess Ratnavati and Tantrik
Now tell you another story related to the fort. This is the story of Princess Ratnavati, which is quite popular here. It is said that Ratnavati was so beautiful that she was discussed in the whole Rajputana and every prince was fascinated by her beauty. At this time a tantric named Scindia, who lives there, also wanted to marry the princess. To woo the princess, she made an oil, which Ratnavati would be attracted to the tantric as soon as she touched. However, the princess came to know about it. Therefore, he threw a bottle of oil on a stone. It is said that after this the stone turned into a large rock and fell directly over the tantric.
Tantric cursed before dying
Before dying, the tantric cursed Bhangarh to be destroyed and no one would be able to live in his premises. Local people say that after this a storm came and Bhangarh was completely destroyed. Some people say that the Mughal army had attacked the state fiercely. During this time the fort was very damaged and the people present in the fort including Princess Ratnavati were killed. However, there is no mention of this in history. Nobody knows whose daughter Ratnavati was, whose wife was there or which story was this story.
Voices of screaming women are heard
Some people claim that the sounds of women screaming, breaking and crying can be heard from this fort. At the same time, some people say that the sounds of souls can also be heard by putting ears on the walls of the fort. Some people believe that while walking in the fort, it seems as if someone is following them. However, there is no shortage of visitors to see this fort built on the hill of Alwar.
