New Maruti Dzire vs Old: Design

The design of the new Maruti Dezire is completely new. However, the size of this sedan remains largely the same as before. The length of the new Maruti Dezire is 3,995 mm, width is 1,735 mm and height is 1,525 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,450 mm and ground clearance is 163 mm.

It has a new vertical-slatted grille which comes finished in gloss black grille. Features include a pair of sleeker projector LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and turn indicators. At the rear, there is a slightly redesigned tailgate, which gets chrome trim along with new taillamps with Y-shaped LED internals.

The interior layout of the new Dezire has been redesigned with an all-new freestanding 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It has features like Arcamis sound system, auto-fold ORVMs on car locking, LED fog lamps, 360 degree camera, connected car technology, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Apart from this, features like rear AC vent, wireless phone charging, auto folding ORVMs are also included. The electric sunroof in the new model of Dezire is the first time any company has provided it in this segment.

It also has cruise control, LED headlamps and tail lamps, rear defogger and Type-C charging port. Safety features like 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, ESP, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seats are also provided.

New Maruti Dzire vs Old: Engine

The new Dezire is powered by a new 1.2 liter three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine which produces 81 bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. This engine has 8 bhp and 2 Nm less than the old Dezire with 1.2 liter four-cylinder K-series petrol engine.

Transmission options include 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic gearbox. Its CNG version will also be available, which will give 69 bhp and 102 Nm torque.

New Maruti Dzire vs Old: Price

Looking at the updates, the base model of the new Maruti Dezire is costlier by Rs 22,000 compared to the previous model. Similarly, considering the number of premium features in the compact sedan, one will have to pay Rs 75,000 more for the top model. The ex-showroom price of the new Dezire is Rs 6.79-10.14 lakh. These are introductory prices, and will increase from January 2025.
