Shashank Denies Allegations of Physical Assault

As the FIR against Shashank Singh and his father grabbed the attention of fans and the media, the cricketer stepped forward to vehemently deny the allegations. Speaking to ANI, the Punjab Kings batter claimed that although Vipendra was employed as a cook, he lacked cooking skills and instead spent his time roaming around the house, taking photographs and secretly recording videos.

“No, we didn’t hold him hostage. He indeed arrived claiming to be a cook, but he wasn’t a cook at all. He didn’t know how to cook; he was just here to have fun, taking videos and photos, and even going into my room,” the 34-year-old said.

“Since he was doing things like that, I suspect he came with the intention of stealing. We are very fortunate that, from what we’ve checked so far, nothing has been stolen,” he added.

Shashank Details Alarming Discovery on Cook’s Phone

In a separate interview with Hindustan Times, Shashank Singh revealed that the situation escalated dramatically after his family checked the cook’s mobile phone and found alarming footage.

“He already knew, once he came here, that I wouldn’t stay here much. So he took photos and everything, like a fan, he took a photo of me and everything. When we saw his mobile, we asked him to delete whatever videos he had taken. So we saw a chat where he was telling his friend that I don’t stay here much and all that,” Shashank said.

“So, obviously, that was the thing, and mummy got very angry. So she shouted, ‘Send him back.’ So then we sent him back. And obviously, when we sent him back, he was the thing that he had come to work; he would work.

“Because obviously, when my sister was, from day 1, since the 28th, she was telling me to call the police and give him to the cops, because obviously he was looting us,” he added.

‘Vipendra Used To Do Drugs’

Further speaking about the allegations, Shashank Singh stated that during a background check, his family discovered that the cook had a history of substance abuse and had previously been caught using drugs in Rewa. The PBKS batter stated that Vipendra appeared disoriented and that his head was shaking when he arrived at their home in the morning.

“When we checked back in Rewa, he was someone who used to do drugs before; he was caught there a couple of times. And here too, at home, because mummy was saying that he came in the morning, his head was spinning, his head was shaking. But then, when Papa cross-checked back in Rewa, he had a history of doing drugs,” the Mumbai cricketer said.

“So that was the thing. And one more mistake, that obviously, everyone who was coming, was from a verified agency. This guy was hired through a person who is close to my father,” he added.

Shashank Singh and his family are expected to press for a strong legal defence and intend to counter-legal action against the cook for trespassing, breach of privacy, and extortion, while fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
