Noida: Massive Fire Breaks Out In Three-Storey House After Window AC Short Circuit; 11 Rescued | WATCH

Afire broke out at around 11 am on Sunday due to a suspected short circuit in a window air conditioner in a room on the top floor of a three-storey house in Block A-682, Sector 19A, Noida.

Thick smoke soon engulfed the building as the fire spread from the third floor to the second.

In the escalating fire incident, 11 people, including many young women residing in the building, were safely rescued. Three fire tenders battled for nearly an hour and brought the fire under control. There were no casualties reported in the unfortunate incident.

 

 

Fire Triggered By Window AC Short Circuit

Noida Sector 19 RWA general secretary Laxmi Narayan said the building with three floors is at A-682, Sector 19A and three young women reside on rent on the third floor.

A neighbour saw smoke emanating from a window AC of one room, raised the alarm, and alerted the young girls living there and the fire department. Although the girls and the neighbours attempted to extinguish the flames, the blaze continued to rise. The timely arrival of the fire brigade prevented the blaze from spreading further.

Fire Brought Under Control Within An Hour

Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey said that a fire call was received about the fire incident at 11:27 am, after which three fire tenders were immediately sent to the incident site.

Firemen, equipped with BA suits, burst in and began spraying water on the raging fire. The firefighters also opened windows and smashed glass panes to allow smoke to escape.

Fire officials say the fire was contained to the second and third floors of the building, and it took just under an hour for firefighters to put out the flames. There were no reports of anyone being stuck inside the building or any injuries as a result of the fire.

Crowd Gathered In The Sector

As news of the fire spread, residents from nearby houses rushed out and gathered on the street and in the park opposite the building.

After the fire was extinguished and the fire department completed its operation, people returned to their homes. RWA officials appreciated the prompt response of the fire brigade.
