Famous choreographer Remo D’Souza does not see any relief in the fraud case at the moment. The court has ordered transfer of trial against Remo D’Souza. The Supreme Court has ordered to transfer the trial from Ghaziabad to Delhi. It has been said in the order that this case will be transferred to the CMM of Karkardooma Court. The bench of Justices Suryakant and Ujjal Bhuiyan has given this order after hearing the case.
Recently, the choreographer had reached the Supreme Court to get the fraud case quashed. But the court had refused to accept the demand to stay the case. The Supreme Court had also issued notice on Remo’s petition.
FIR was registered in 2016
Actually, Remo D’Souza had challenged the order of Allahabad High Court in the Supreme Court in the fraud case, which the Supreme Court had refused to accept. Also, a reply was sought from the Uttar Pradesh government within a week. Ghaziabad businessman Satyendra Tyagi had filed an FIR against choreographer Remo D’Souza in December 2016.
What was the complaint?
In his complaint, the complainant alleged that Remo had suggested him to invest Rs 5 crore in his film Amar Must Die. He alleges that Remo had also promised that his money would be returned within a year. However, even after a year his money was not returned. The complainant also said that when he asked for his money back from Remo D’Souza, he was threatened by underworld don Prasad Pujari.
Remo had demanded
The police had filed a charge sheet against Remo and Prasad Pujari under sections (420), (406) and (386) of the IPC. The trial court had also issued summons to Remo to appear. However, Remo filed a petition in the High Court demanding cancellation of the case registered against him. But this was rejected by the High Court. After this he reached the Supreme Court, where he was disappointed.
