Former Union Minister Pashupati Paras is angry with NDA and has called a big meeting of its leaders. It is being said that Paras can now finally break his ties with the National Democratic Alliance. Now neither BJP nor Nitish Kumar is giving any support to Paras, who has been isolated since the Lok Sabha elections.
If Paras’s party leaders are to be believed, Nitish Kumar is not even giving him time to meet. In such a situation, the question is being raised that why Pashupati, who was once the king of Modi-Nitish, has suddenly become sidelined?
These 3 decisions increased problems
In 2021, when uncle Pashupati Paras rebelled, he was honored with both position and prestige. Paras was made a minister of Ram Vilas rank in the Modi cabinet. Paras’s security was increased, but now Paras has neither position nor prestige.
1. To be adamant in seat distribution
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP started the process of making an agreement between Pashupati Paras and Chirag Paswan. BJP believed that Paswan’s vote bank is strongly connected with Chirag. In such a situation, rejecting Chirag would be a politically unwise decision.
It is said that BJP made many efforts for this, but Pashupati Paras did not agree. Paras was adamant on Hajipur seat, which Chirag wanted to take. Ultimately BJP left Paras and compromised with Chirag.
In the agreement, Chirag Paswan was given 5 Lok Sabha seats of his choice. Chirag was successful in winning all these seats in the 2024 elections.
2. Do not compromise even with RJD
After breaking the alliance with BJP, Pashupati Paras took the initiative to form an alliance with RJD. It is said that Lalu Yadav wanted to make him contest on his symbol. Lalu said that Pashupati Paras does not have the strong support base of Ram Vilas Paswan nor do people know the symbol of Paras’s party.
Pashupati Paras could not accept Lalu’s offer. Interestingly, meanwhile, Veena Devi, an MP from Paras, shifted towards Chirag, due to which his bargaining position became further weak. In the end Pashupati Paras could not get seats even from the India Alliance.
3. Ultimately decision not to contest elections
After being rejected by India and NDA, Pashupati Paras decided not to contest the elections. Political experts say that this is a suicide decision for a political leader.
Pashupati not contesting the elections gave more strength to these speculations, in which it was being said that he did not have the support base.
Pashupati Paras supported NDA by deciding not to contest the elections. However, NDA, which had entered the field strongly with Chirag, stopped giving interest to Pashupati.
Nitish was also ambushed
Pashupati rebelled against Chirag and joined NDA but Nitish remained through and through. Vaishali MP Veena Devi had said in an interview that the script of LJP Toot was written at the house of the then Assembly Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari. Hazari is a strong leader of JDU and is currently included in Nitish cabinet.
Nitish and Paras remained together till 2024, but as soon as NDA declared Nitish as CM face. Similarly, Nitish started maintaining distance from Paras. Nitish does not want to clash with Chirag in the assembly elections.
In the 2020 elections, JDU candidates lost on 40 seats because of Chirag.
Will Paras now be able to do wonders?
Pashupati Paras still has Assembly elections 2025 to play. Paras had recently announced that if he does not get respect in NDA, then he will contest alone on 243 seats in the 2025 elections.
It is being said that a roadmap on this can be prepared in the meeting of Paras which will last for 2 days. The population of Paswan community in Bihar is about 5 percent. Caste has a direct impact on 40-50 Dalit dominated seats. If Paras can do something here then the game can happen.
