On one hand, the Bihar government has either canceled the holidays on Hindu Teej festivals or reduced the number of holiday days. At the same time, the holidays of Muslim festivals have been extended. In this regard, the educational calendar has also been released by the Education Department of Bihar. On seeing this calendar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started attacking Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling it appeasement politics.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi made a direct attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that once again the Bihar government has started playing the game of appeasement. Holidays of Hindu festivals like Janmashtami, Ram Navami, Raksha Bandhan and Shivratri have been cancelled. After dividing Hindus into castes, the CM is now busy appeasing the minorities. On the other hand, Union Minister Giriraj Singh called it the Islamic Republic of Bihar.

He has written on social media platform Said that Eid Muharram holidays have been extended. This is also a part of Ghazwa-e-Hind. In this sequence, Ashwani Kumar Choubey has called Chief Minister Nitish Kumar the chief of appeasement – Kursi Kumar of Bihar. He has written on his micro blogging site X that once again the anti-Hindu face of the uncle-nephew government has come to the fore.
More holidays on Muslim festivals
In this government, while on one hand the holidays for Muslim festivals have been extended in schools, on the other hand holidays for Hindu festivals are being abolished. Along with this he has written that shame on the government which hates Sanatan for vote bank. Let us tell you that the Education Department of Bihar Government has released the educational calendar for the year 2024. Government schools will be operated according to this calendar. In the information about holidays given by the department in this calendar, holidays in Hindu festivals have been reduced.

At the same time, the holidays for minority festivals have been increased. This time there is no provision for holidays especially on Ramnavmi, Mahashivratri, Teej, Jitiya, last Monday of Sawan, Janmashtami, Anant Chaturdashi, Bhaiya Dooj, Govardhan Puja, Kartik Purnima. Till now there was one day holiday on these festivals. Similarly, holidays of Holi, Diwali, Chhath and Durga Puja have been reduced. Whereas the holidays of Eid, Bakrid and Moharram have been extended.

In 2023, the holiday on Holi was for 3 days, but in 2024 it has been reduced to 2 days. Durga Puja holiday will also be for only 3 days instead of 6 days. Earlier there were holidays for 8 days from Diwali to Chhath. Now this holiday will last only for four days. On the other hand, there was always a two-day holiday on Eid and Bakrid, but now there will be three days. For the first time in 2023, 1 day holiday was declared on Moharram, it has been increased to 2 days in 2024.
There will be 30 days summer vacation
There will be holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti and Ravidas Jayanti also. Along with this, summer holidays have also been increased from 20 days to 30 days. Even after all this upheaval, the total number of holidays in the year 2024 will remain only 60. According to the information, there is also a provision in this educational calendar that if in any district, on the occasion of Friday, an additional holiday can be declared with the permission of the District Magistrate.
