The Nissan Tecton, which is based on the Renault Duster, will be launched on July 9, 2026. It will have features like 1.0L and 1.3L turbo-petrol engines and ADAS. A 1.8L hybrid engine option will also be offered in the future.
New Delhi. Nissan is going to launch its new mid-size (C-segment) SUV, Tecton, in India on 9 July 2026. This is actually Nissan’s version of the third generation Renault Duster. There is still time for launch, but the production-ready Tecton has been spotted testing in Bengaluru. Let us know what special can be found in this car.
Connected LED Tail Lamps
At the rear, it has a powerful bumper, sloping windshield and an integrated roof spoiler. Earlier teasers had revealed that the production model will feature C-shaped connected LED tail lamps. The Tecton will also have LED DRLs and a full-width lightbar at the front. “TEKTON” will be written in big letters on its bonnet. The vehicle will have a large grille, details of which are not clear in these pictures. C-shaped inserts will also be seen on the front bumper.
What features will be available?
It is expected that the interior of Tecton will see Nissan’s signature design and premium trims will be used in it. The company has not yet shown the design of the cabin, but its features will be similar to Duster. The new Duster is packed with technology. It includes panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, powered tailgate, 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in Google integration, six-speaker Arkamys audio system, 10.25-inch digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, Level 2 ADAS, Features like 360-degree camera and electronic parking brake are included.
Engine and Mechanical Parts
Tecton is being built on the same RGMP platform as Duster. It will also get the same engine options as the Duster: 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol. The first engine will generate 100 PS power and 160 Nm torque, while the second engine will generate 163 PS power and 280 Nm torque. The 1.0-litre engine will come only with a manual gearbox, while the 1.3-litre engine will have the option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed DCT.
Hybrid engine will also be available
In the coming time, this SUV will also get a powerful 1.8-litre hybrid engine. It will have a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. When launched, the Tecton will compete with the Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and other C-SUVs. It is expected that its price will be around the Duster.
