Nirjala Ekadashi: Nirjala Ekadashi is considered more auspicious among all Ekadashi fasts. There is a religious belief that by observing this one Ekadashi fast, one gets the virtuous results of all the Ekadashi fasts. According to the legend, Pandu’s son Bhima had observed the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi to get the virtue of all the Ekadashi fasts. Every year the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is observed on the Shukla Paksha day of Jyeshtha month. This year, the fast of this Ekadashi will be observed on 25th June.
The fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is considered to be the most difficult among all Ekadashi fasts, because on this day the devotees observe a waterless fast. That means, do not even drink water during the fast. It is believed that due to the virtuous effect of Nirjala Ekadashi fast, the soul attains salvation after death. The soul is freed from the cycle of birth and death and goes to Vaikuntha Dham. On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, along with worship and fasting, some very special measures related to Tulsi Manjari are also done. It is believed that this brings happiness and prosperity in the house.
Great remedies of Tulsi Manjari on Nirjala Ekadashi
- On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, tie Tulsi Manjari in a red cloth and touch Lord Vishnu and keep it in the safe. It is believed that by doing this there is never any shortage of money in the house.
- On this day in the evening, put basil leaves in milk and offer it to Lord Vishnu. By doing this one gets relief from debt. Sources of new money come in.
- On this day, take Ganga water in a copper vessel and add basil leaves in it. Then sprinkle this water everywhere in the house. By doing this the negativity in the house ends and poverty goes away.
- On this day, tie a red Kalawa to the Tulsi plant. By doing this the disputes in the house go away.
Nirjala Ekadashi 2026 date
- According to Drik Panchang, the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month is starting on 24th June 2026 at 06:12 pm.
- This date will end on June 25, 2026 at 08:09 pm.
In such a situation, on the basis of Udaya Tithi, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
