Niharika Konidela Calls ‘Committee Kurrollu’ the Best Decision of Her Life After Double National Award Win

The celebrations surrounding Committee Kurrollu reached an emotional high after the film’s historic double victory at the 72nd National Film Awards, but it was producer Niharika Konidela’s heartfelt speech that became the highlight of the evening. Calling the film “the best decision” of her 32-year life, Niharika reflected on the journey that transformed her debut production into a National Award-winning film.

Speaking at the success celebration, Niharika said every member associated with Committee Kurrollu had a unique journey, and watching the film win two National Awards filled her heart with immense satisfaction. She revealed that the moment she agreed to produce the film, she decided to give it everything she had.

“In my 32 years of life, saying yes to Committee Kurrollu is the best decision I have ever made. I decided from day one that this was my film and I would give it my heart and soul,” she said.

Niharika added that making a good film is only half the battle, while ensuring it reaches audiences is equally important. She credited every technician, artist, and crew member for contributing to the film’s remarkable success.

She also recalled how director Yadhu Vamsee always believed the film would win a National Award. Although she did not begin the project with that goal, she admitted that during the journey she too started dreaming of seeing Committee Kurrollu among the National Award winners.

“I never made this film with the intention of winning a National Award. But during this journey, I began wishing that we too would be part of the National Awards. Today, that dream has come true.”

Niharika expressed special happiness over P. Ravikumar winning the Best Makeup Artist award, recalling the tremendous makeover process that transformed several young actors for their roles in the film. She also acknowledged the support of the entire technical team throughout the filmmaking journey.

The producer became emotional while speaking about her family’s cinematic legacy. She recalled that her father Nagababu’s production Rudraveena had won three National Awards and said this achievement made her feel she had lived up to the legacy of the Konidela family.

“Today, I truly feel I have done something worthy as a member of the Konidela family. I have always been proud to say I belong to the Mega family, but now I can proudly say that I deserve to be part of this family.”

Niharika further revealed that Megastar Chiranjeevi personally congratulated her after the National Award announcement, telling her that just as her father received National Awards for Rudraveena, she too had now achieved the same honour, making the entire family proud.

She also thanked the media and audiences, recalling that many had predicted Committee Kurrollu would win a National Award immediately after watching the film. Those predictions have now become reality, with the film winning Best Telugu Feature Film and Best Makeup Artist at the 72nd National Film Awards.

Earlier in the evening, the entire cast and crew reunited to celebrate the historic achievement. Producer Phani Adapaka, director Yadhu Vamsee, writers, technicians, and actors shared emotional memories of the film’s journey and spoke about how Committee Kurrollu changed their lives and careers forever.

Produced by Niharika Konidela under Pink Elephant Pictures in association with Radha Damodar Studios, Committee Kurrollu has evolved from a content-driven film featuring newcomers into one of Telugu cinema’s most celebrated success stories. With critical acclaim, multiple awards, and now two prestigious National Film Awards, the film has firmly secured its place in Telugu cinema’s recent history.
