News9 Global Summit Germany’s Food and Agriculture Minister Cem Ozdemir said that India is moving towards becoming an economic power in the world. Now India is far ahead in terms of technology. There have been very good relations between the two countries. Besides, they are also cooperating with each other in many sectors. He further said that India and Germany can cooperate with each other in many more sectors in the coming days. While talking about Artificial Intelligence, he said that both the countries can use it in the agriculture sector. Due to which this sector will benefit a lot. He has also emphasized on expanding agricultural trade between the two countries.

Food and Agriculture Minister Cem Ozdemir further said that now there should be a free trade agreement between India and Europe. Which is very important for both the regions. On the other hand, India and Germany can cooperate with each other on renewable energy. So that climate related issues can be dealt with. Talking about green hydrogen, he said that India is working a lot on it. Apart from this, on giving visas to skilled workers of India under the Germany Immigration Program, he said that this will greatly benefit both the countries.
Who is Cem Ozdemir?
Cem Ozdemir, a teacher by profession, was born on 21 December 1965 in Bad Urach. He graduated in social pedagogy from the Protestant University of Applied Sciences for Social Affairs in Reutlingen, Germany in 1994. In 1994 he was also elected to the German Bundestag for the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (German Green Party), becoming its first member of Turkish origin.
From 2004 to 2009, Ozdemir was a Member of the European Parliament, where he served as foreign policy spokesperson for his political group. Between 2008 and January 2018, he served as president of his party. He was part of the German Green Party’s leading candidate duo in the 2017 general elections. From 2017 to 2021, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure in the German Bundestag.
He was directly elected to the German Bundestag in the constituency of Stuttgart I in the 2021 general elections. He is part of the Federal Government as the Federal Food and Agriculture Minister since December 2021. Along with this, he is also the Federal Minister of Education and Research Minister from November 7, 2024.
