Fraudsters have now started cheating with the help of matrimonial advertisements. By using matrimonial advertisement, swindlers have defrauded a family living in Kanpur.

A prominent resident of Kanpur city told on the condition of anonymity that he had given an advertisement in the newspaper for the marriage of his son. After seeing the advertisement, a person called from Bahraich and said that I want to talk to you about marriage for my daughter. The caller was insisting on coming to Bahraich but the victim’s family refused. After this the caller told about coming to Kanpur.

This is how the fraud was carried out

On Saturday, a man of about 62 years reached the victim’s house and started talking about marriage. After the conversation, the man hesitantly said that someone had snatched his purse on the way. He does not have money to go back and he also had to buy some medicines for his wife for which a total of Rs 3400 was required.

The victim gave Rs 5000 as a humanitarian gesture and said that he would return it after reaching home. After this the person went back and did not make any calls. When the victim became suspicious after two days, he called but at first the call was not picked up and then the phone got switched off. Then he realized that he had been cheated.

Talk only after seeing the identity card

The victim said that the amount was small and it was about his daughter, hence he did not file a case with the police. But he has become cautious for the future. If you are also taking matrimonial help for your children, then be extra careful. Whoever wants to talk about marriage, first ask for his Aadhar card and other identity cards.
