Mumbai (Maharashtra): Now a new twist has come in the death case of TV actor Sanchita Ugale. All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate this case. AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta issued a statement demanding a high-level inquiry into the actor’s death. He said that a thorough investigation is necessary to find out the truth and ensure justice.

- The association also stressed that concerns over the case should be addressed, “so that such tragic incidents do not recur in the future and such questions do not continue to be raised every year.”
- This appeal comes after a demand made on June 15, in which AICWA had urged the Chief Minister to order a high-level inquiry into the actor’s death. The association had then expressed concern over the alleged suicide and demanded investigation from all possible angles.
Who was TV actress Sanchita Ugale?
TV actor Sanchita Ugale was known for her work in shows like ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’. She was found dead at her home in Nalasopara area of Mumbai.

- AICWA has also urged the Maharashtra government to investigate the recurring incidents of suicide in the film industry and consider taking measures to address the root causes behind such tragedies.
- Gupta said, “Sanchita Ugale should get justice and the truth behind her death should come out so that no other young artist in the Indian film industry has to face such a fate in the future.”
Sanchita was found hanging from the fan in the bedroom
- According to the police, the incident took place on the evening of June 14 at Sai Santoshi Building in Achole village of Nalasopara East. Officials said Ugale was found hanging from the fan in her bedroom and the room was locked from inside. He was taken to Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
- Speaking to the media, Vinod Bagh, API of Achole police station, said, “The incident took place on June 14 between 7 and 7.30 pm. Sanchita had locked the door from inside and hanged herself by hanging her saree from the fan in her bedroom. She was taken to Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared her dead after examination. On June 15, based on the complaint of the deceased’s father Machindra Ugale, Achole police have registered a case.”
