New Kia PV7 Electric Van Debuts – 9 Seater, 5.35m Long, 96.2 kWh Battery

To be offered in both passenger and cargo versions, Kia PV7 will be available in multiple markets including Korea and Europe

As part of its plans to step up focus on the light commercial vehicle market,  has unveiled the PV7 electric van. This follows the  , which was introduced in 2025. PV7 is significantly larger than PV5 and can carry more passengers and cargo. As many as 23 variants of PV7 will be introduced in the coming years.

Kia PV7 – Dimensions

Just like the PV5, Kia PV7 is built on the new E-GMP.S (Electric Global Modular Platform for Service) architecture. This is especially designed for commercial applications and is different from the E-GMP passenger car architecture. PV7 will be available in both standard and long wheelbase versions. For now, details of only the long wheelbase version have been revealed.

Kia PV7 long wheelbase version is 5,350 mm long, 1,995 mm wide and 1,990 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3,500 mm. This is larger than PV5 long wheelbase version, which measures 4,670 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

Cargo and passenger space

PV7 Cargo version (long wheelbase) with a standard roof height has 6.1 cubic metres of cargo space. There is a high roof version as well, which has 8.0 cubic metres of space. Payload capacity is 1,200 kg for the standard version of PV7 and 1,165 kg for the long wheelbase version. In comparison, the PV5 has payload capacity in the range of 605 kg to 800 kg. Gross vehicle weight of PV7 has not been revealed.

PV7 Passenger variant can meet various needs such as personnel transport, shuttle services, tourist services and rental car services. It can also be used as a family vehicle. European version of PV7 Passenger will have up to 9 seats. In its home market Korea, up to 11 seats will be available. Multiple seating configurations will be available, with some having removable seats.

Kia PV7 has advanced equipment such as  .It has features like OTA updates, open app marketplace and Gleo AI voice assistant. Displays include a 12.9-inch and a 14.6-inch unit.

For commercial customers, Kia is offering a dedicated ‘Business Solutions’ package with PV7. This includes features like predictive diagnostics, fleet management system and a dashboard for connected vehicle data.

Performance, range

As compared to PV5 that uses a 400 volt architecture, Kia PV7 uses an 800 volt architecture. One of the key benefits is faster charging time, which is critical for commercial applications. When using a 350 kW charger, PV7 can achieve 10% to 80% charge in around 25 minutes. Kia PV7 has some exclusive features such as front and rear charging ports. The front charging port supports both DC and AC, whereas the one at the rear has only an AC charging port.

This design intends to solve charging challenges that users may face in tight spots. Kia PV7 will be available in front wheel drive format at the time of launch, followed by an all-wheel drive version. The FWD version generates 200 kW (272 PS) and 420 Nm of torque. Battery pack options will include a 71.5 kWh and a 96.2 kWh unit. With the larger battery pack, PV7 Cargo version has a range of around 460 km (WLTP).

Wide variant choices

With its Flexible Body System (FBS) modular body architecture, Kia PV7 electric van can be easily transformed for various distinct applications. As many as 23 variants are planned to be introduced over the long term. These include three Cargo variants (standard, long and high-roof), two Passenger versions, a Chassis Cab and various other customized versions. After PV5 and PV7, Kia will further strengthen its CV portfolio with the PV9, planned for launch in 2029.
