Eco-tourism got a new identity in Bhoramdev. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma launched the 6 km eco trail and said it would increase tourism, environment conservation and new employment opportunities.

Raipur: Giving a new identity to nature conservation and eco-tourism in Bhoramdev Sanctuary of Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Saturday inaugurated Van Mahotsav and Bhoramdev Eco Trail in Jungle Safari. During this, he along with public representatives, officials, forest department employees and villagers visited the approximately 6 kilometer long Bhoramdev Eco Trail and experienced the natural beauty of the forest, biodiversity and exciting forest journey. It is a responsible journey undertaken in a natural environment. Its main objective is to conserve the natural resources and wildlife without harming the environment, and to economically benefit the local communities.

Bhoramdev area rich in priceless natural beauty

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that after the start of jungle safari in Bhoramdev Sanctuary, tourists are now going inside the forest and enjoying nature closely. Now the Bhoramdev Eco Trail, which started from today, will also give the tourists a new and memorable experience amidst the dense forest, natural beauty and wildlife. He said that nature has enriched Bhoramdev area with priceless natural beauty. He said that tourism is the fastest growing and most employment generating sector in the world. With the increase in tourism facilities in Bhoramdev, more tourists will come here. This will promote hotels, vehicles, food, handicrafts and other small and big businesses and strengthen the local economy.

It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the natural heritage.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that increasing tourism will also create new employment opportunities for the local youth. Even now many youth are guiding tourists by becoming nature guides in jungle safari. Such opportunities will increase in the coming time, which will also increase their income. He said that there is a possibility of rapid growth of tourism activities here throughout the year, which will directly benefit the people of the area. Shri Sharma said that the development of Bhoramdev will be successful only when the local people consider it as their heritage and protect it. Appealing to everyone to protect the environment and maintain the cleanliness of tourist places, he said that it is the responsibility of all of us to protect and advance this natural heritage.

Bhoramdev’s picture will change with Swadesh Darshan Yojana

Deputy CM said that under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Central Government, Rs 146 crore has been approved for the overall tourism development of Bhoramdev area. With this amount, various tourist places including entrance gate, shed, museum, modern park, parking, fair venue, Chherki Mahal, Madwa Mahal, Ramchua and Saroda Dam are being developed. With the completion of these projects, Bhoramdev will be established as a major tourist center at the national level.

6 km long eco trail will provide thrill amidst nature

The Bhoramdev Eco Trail developed by the Forest Department is about 6 kilometers long, which takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete. During the trail, tourists will be able to enjoy natural forests, beautiful views, observation of birds and butterflies, information about medicinal plants and safe forest tours with trained nature guides.

Solar lanterns distributed to beneficiaries of Baiga community

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, Vijay Sharma established a black mango grove by planting 51 black mango plants in Kariya Aama village. Along with this, 50 thousand seed ball planting campaign was started across the district. E-rickshaw was flagged off while starting the distribution campaign of one lakh saplings in the district. Solar lanterns and jackets were also distributed to 100 beneficiaries of the Baiga community in the program.

Bhoramdev Eco Trail will be organized every Saturday and Sunday

Bhoramdev Eco Trail will be operated from Bhoramdev Eco Camp located at Kariaama Gate every Saturday and Sunday. Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Nikhil Aggarwal said that the participants will be taken on a forest tour with an experienced nature guide. During this, they will get information about trees, plants, medicinal plants, birds, butterflies, wildlife, local food, Bhoramdev Temple Heritage Complex. A fee of Rs 1,000 per person has been fixed for participating in the eco trail. Chhattisgarh Cow Seva Commission Chairman Vishesh Patel, Chhattisgarh Farmer Welfare Board Chairman Suresh Chandravanshi, Police Accountability Authority member Bhagat Patel, District Panchayat President Ishwari Sahu, District Panchayat member Ram Kumar Bhatt, Dr. Virendra Sahu and other public representatives and a large number of villagers were present in the program.
