Prahlad Joshi took charge as the new Union Education Minister. Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister, he said that he will perform this duty with full humility and responsibility. Dharmendra Pradhan had resigned from the post of minister after the NEET paper leak controversy.
New Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi on Saturday said that he will perform this duty with full humility and responsibility.
Joshi was given additional charge of the Education Ministry after President Draupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
I will fulfill my responsibility with full humility: Prahlad Joshi
After assuming charge, Joshi said, “The Prime Minister has reposed confidence in me and entrusted me with such an important responsibility. I will fulfill this duty with complete humility and a strong sense of responsibility… I thank the Prime Minister for giving me this important responsibility and showing so much faith in me. Under his guidance and leadership, I will work sincerely and try my best to live up to his expectations in this department. With complete dedication, humility and honesty, I will work towards fulfilling this responsibility. I once again thank the Prime Minister for giving me this opportunity…”
Crediting former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for implementing the National Education Policy (NEP), Joshi said, “Many historic achievements have been made in the last 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. In the last four to five years, Dharmendra Pradhan also implemented the National Education Policy, and many important initiatives were taken. The country has made significant progress in the new education system. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, I will work to the best of my ability and fulfill my responsibilities diligently,” he added.
Pradhan had resigned due to NEET paper leak
Pradhan had stepped down from the post following protests by students over the NEET paper leak. Announcing his resignation earlier today, Pradhan said he had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the interest of students and to ensure that the ongoing protests over exam irregularities are not taken advantage of by “anti-national forces”.
In a letter shared on Twitter, Pradhan said, “The situation that has arisen in Jantar Mantar and other parts of the country should not be exploited by anti-national forces. The unity of the country must be maintained. The future of every student of India should not be entangled in legal entanglements.”
“Keeping these things in mind, I have sent my resignation to the Honorable Prime Minister,” he said. (ANI)
