New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Central Government have refuted a “fake video” circulating on social media. In this video it was being claimed that the question paper of NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination was leaked on Telegram. The fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Monday termed the video as fake and said, “The reports alleging paper leak are baseless and false.”
Had the paper come on Telegram before the exam?
PIB Fact Check posted on The testing agency posted on X, “NTA’s attention has been drawn to a fabricated video circulating on social media regarding NEET (UG) 2026. This video is fake and the claims made in it are false. The examination was successfully conducted today under complete security and surveillance.”
Rumors spread to scare students
NTA said in its statement, “Creating and deliberately spreading such misinformation to deceive or scare students is a serious crime. NTA, with the help of I4C and law enforcement agencies, is taking action against the creators of this content. We appeal to students, parents and the public to verify information only from the official website and official handles of NTA and not to forward such content. Our more than 20 lakh candidates Deserves a calm and fair process.”

More than 20 students gave the paper again?
NTA had conducted this exam again on Sunday, because the paper was leaked during the exam held last month. According to the agency, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared in the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026. This examination was conducted in 13 languages at 5,440 centers in India and 14 centers abroad.
Such high security for the first time
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh told reporters on Sunday that the re-examination was conducted peacefully with full security arrangements. He said, “So far we have not received any complaint related to paper leak. NTA is working diligently to ensure the sanctity of the process. We are 100 per cent confident.”
When will NEET result come?
He also informed that the evaluation process will start soon and the results will be declared sooner than usual. He also emphasized that the agency has completed the entire examination cycle in a record 37 days.
