CJP Protest Day 3: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) continued its protest at Jantar Mantar for the third consecutive day on Monday. The party alleges that there were irregularities in the NEET exam held on May 3 and the future of lakhs of students was affected due to paper leak. The protesters have been sitting on strike for the last three days regarding this issue.

Abhijeet Dipke touched the feet of volunteer Mohammad Junaid

During the demonstration, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke specially thanked volunteer Mohammad Junaid. Junaid was helping the students who were standing at Jantar Mantar throughout the night. He distributed juice and snack packets among the protesters. In a video that surfaced on social media, Abhijeet Dipke can be seen hugging Mohammad Junaid and touching his feet. Meanwhile, Junaid was seen distributing food items to the students.

Demand to restore water supply in Jantar Mantar restrooms

Abhijeet Dipke also appealed to the administration and concerned officials to restore water supply to the restrooms located at Jantar Mantar as soon as possible. He says that the protesters should be provided basic facilities amid the ongoing protest.

Candle march announced in memory of students

The CJP announced that candles would be lit at 5:30 pm on Monday in memory of the students, for whose death the party held the government’s alleged failure to be responsible. The party alleges that failure to stop the NEET paper leak caused many students and their families to face serious mental and social troubles.

Indefinite strike continues from Saturday

The protest started on Saturday afternoon and has been continuing since then. Many students and supporters stayed at Jantar Mantar overnight amid the presence of police. During the protest, many social workers and volunteers were also seen providing food, water and other essential items to the protesters.

Appeal for support from farmer organizations and public

On Sunday, Abhijit Dipke had announced that the agitation would continue on Monday also. He appealed to farmers organizations, student groups and common citizens to join and support this protest.

The movement continued with slogans, speeches and cultural programs

Sloganeering, speeches and various cultural programs were organized at the protest site on Sunday. During this, supporters were seen clapping, shouting slogans to the tune of tambourine and singing patriotic songs. The atmosphere of the movement remained active throughout the day.

Demand for resignation of Education Minister and cancellation of examination

Abhijit Dipke reiterated his demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. They allege that accountability has not been fixed regarding the examination controversy. Along with this, he also demanded cancellation of NEET exam and appropriate compensation to the families of students who allegedly committed suicide after the paper leak.
