Manisha Mandhare of ‘Madame Gang’ arrested
CBI on Saturday arrested Pune-based biology lecturer Manisha Gurunath Mandhare after a long interrogation at the Delhi headquarters. The investigating agency claims that Manisha was a part of the secret ‘Paper Setting Committee’ of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which prepares the examination paper.
‘Leak’ coaching class conducted at home
Manisha knew in advance which questions from Botany and Zoology were going to come in the exam. He started a special coaching class for select students at his Pune home just before the exams. There he made the children write the same questions directly in the notebook and tick them in the books. When the real paper came out on May 3, the questions mentioned by Manisha were 100% matching. In return, lakhs of rupees were collected from the students and their parents. Manisha Waghmare, a beautician from Pune, who was caught on May 14, was responsible for taking the students to Mandhare.

PV Kulkarni: Chemistry Professor in Latur. The mastermind of this entire game, who was on the panel that set the NEET papers for years. In the last week of April itself, he had made the children memorize questions and answers at his home.
Manisha Waghmare: Beautician from Pune and partner of Manisha Mandhare, who used her contacts to trap rich parents and candidates.
Shubham Khairnar: Broker and Dental Doctor, the main accused of creating and distributing PDF file of the leaked paper on Telegram group.
Dhananjay Lokhande: Dental mechanic, who did the work of brokering and connecting students at the local level.
Mangilal Binwal: Broker and agent of Rajasthan, middleman who deals with big syndicates of Rajasthan and Haryana.
Vikas Binwal: MBBS student, son of Mangilal, who himself is studying medicine but was working for this gang.
Yash Yadav: Guardian and broker, accused of buying and selling leaked papers by making a deal of Rs 15 to 45 lakh.
Ravi Attri: Students and mediators, the main link in the paper supply network in different states.

Rahul Gandhi demanded removal of Dharmendra Pradhan
After this leak came to light, the politics of the country has completely heated up. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has directly targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by releasing a video on social media platform X. Rahul Gandhi wrote, ‘More than 22 lakh innocent children of the country have been cheated in the NEET exam, but Modi ji is not saying a single word on this. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should be immediately removed from his post, or the government itself should take full responsibility for this.

4 new senior officers come to NTA
After all-round pressure and bitterness, the Central Government has made a major administrative reshuffle within the National Testing Agency (NTA). To stop paper leaks and improve the agency, direct entry of four tough officers has been made. Akash Jain (IRS officer) has been made the new Joint Director. Aditya Rajendra Bhojgarhia has also got the responsibility of joint director. Anuja Bapat and Ruchita Vij have been appointed joint secretaries in NTA. All these officers will hold command for the next 5 years.
When is NEET re-exam?
This examination, which was held on May 3 at 565 centers in the country and abroad, was completely canceled by the government on May 12 after receiving complaints of irregularities. Now CBI is taking the accused on 10-day remand and digitally examining their laptops, mobile phones and bank statements so that the re-examination can be made completely safe. The new date of exam has also arrived. NEET exam will be conducted again on June 21, 2026.
