CJP made 3 demands, insisted on Pradhan’s resignation
New Delhi [भारत]July 20 (ANI): Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief spokesperson Saurav Das on Monday said he met Union Health Minister JP Nadda and raised three demands, including resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of NEET aspirants, “of whom more than 20 have lost their lives”. He said hospitalized activist Sonam Wangchuk should be “immediately released”.
Das said that the protests will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Das told ANI, “We met JP Nadda twice. During the meeting, we put forward our three demands. First, Sonam Wangchuk should be released immediately… Second, we demand that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign; he should either be dismissed from the cabinet or resign voluntarily. The protest will continue until his resignation is ensured. Third, we demand a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants, including More than 20 lives have been lost. We approached JP Nadda with these demands.”
Das and CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka met the Union Health Minister. He also explained the demands in a post on X. He said that he was at Nadda’s residence for about four hours. “The demands have been conveyed, which include immediate resignation/dismissal of Dharmendra Pradhan,” he said. He further said, “The minister has assured us that he will discuss it at the appropriate level. However, no commitment has been made so far. The peaceful protesters will not rest until the demands are met!”
Government gave details of talks
Nadda said in a post on Twitter that the government held talks with a delegation of protesters. “This morning, for the first time, a proposal came from the protesters to hold talks with the government, and our discussions have been going on since 11:50 am. The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere,” he said. He further said, “An initial verbal discussion with their delegation was held at length, and they handed me a written petition around 4 pm. I have requested all the protesters to end their protest and assist the administration in restoring normalcy.”
Delhi Police calls claims of assault ‘false’
Meanwhile, Delhi Police rejected CJP’s claims that a 12-year-old girl was assaulted and dozens of people were seriously injured during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests. Police described the allegations as “false” and urged people not to spread misinformation.
Delhi Police said, “Fact-checking: False information is currently being circulated on social media, with posts claiming that a 12-year-old girl named Geetanjali was attacked, her hair pulled, head injured, and around 40 to 50 other persons were decapitated.” Police said, “This information is false. The claims being circulated in the post are not true. Please do not spread or promote false or misleading information.” (ANI)
