New Delhi [भारत]July 22 (ANI): NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on Wednesday. NCP (SCP) leader and Baramati MP Supriya Sule was also present in this meeting.
Government cornered over NEET paper leak
Earlier on Tuesday, both Sharad Pawar and MP Supriya Sule had joined the protesters at Jantar Mantar, where the CJP is continuing its protest against the NEET-UG paper leak. The party has given its support to the demand for resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Pawar urged the Center to ‘consider the demands sensitively’ and take appropriate action.
He further said, “The Indian Constitution has protected the rights and entitlements of every citizen of the country, and the government and administration are accountable to the people. Therefore, instead of suppressing the students and citizens who are peacefully protesting for their demands, the government should consider their demands sensitively and take appropriate action by paying due attention to them.”
Stop on speculations about joining NDA
Meanwhile, NCP (SCP) working president Supriya Sule had last week rejected speculations about joining the NDA or merging with the NCP. He said that there is no proposal from any other party to join hands with him.
Addressing journalists in Mumbai, Supriya Sule said that no senior party leader has been contacted on this matter. He said, “Pawar Saheb, I, Jayant Patil, Anil Deshmukh and Rajesh Tope or any senior leader have not received any offer from any party… Neither BJP, Congress nor any NDA ally has given us any offer.”
Rumors of the Sharad Pawar-led faction joining hands with the NDA had gained momentum following late-night meetings in Mumbai between NCP (SCP) leader Jayant Patil, ruling NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, and CM Devendra Fadnavis. The Sharad Pawar-led party has said that these meetings were for administrative matters and not political restructuring. (ANI)
