The 72nd National Film Awards have been announced. Kartik Aryan and Mammootty received the Best Actor award, Yami Gautam received the Best Actress award and ‘Article 370’ received the Best Film award.
72nd National Film Awards: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday announced the winners of the 72nd National Film Awards in New Delhi. This honor is counted among the most prestigious awards of Indian cinema. This time Karthik Aryan was jointly given the National Award for Best Actor for the film ‘Chandu Champion’ and Mammootty for the film ‘Brahmayugam’. Yami Gautam won the National Award for Best Actress for the film ‘Article 370’.
‘Article 370’ was the biggest winner
This time ‘Article 370’ won awards in many important categories. The film received Best Feature Film, Best Actress (Yami Gautam), Best Music Direction (Shashwat Sachdev).

Sanjeev Srivastava was given the 72nd National Film Award for Best Film Critic for his deep understanding of Hindi cinema and film review.

11 member jury selected the winner
The 72nd National Film Awards included films that received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. This year the winners were selected by an 11-member jury. The jury was headed by renowned filmmaker Jayaraj. Jayaraj had earlier also been a part of the jury of the National Film Awards in the year 2012. After reviewing the films from across the country, the jury decided the names of the winners in various categories.
