India’s health care sector is changing rapidly. Lifestyle related diseases are increasing, cases of cancer and heart diseases are continuously coming to the fore. At the same time, bone and joint problems have also increased among the youth. Along with this, people have become more aware about their health than before. In such a situation, the expectations of patients have also changed. Now they not only want modern treatment, but also want timely correct diagnosis of the disease, advice as per their need, facility for quick recovery and constant support of doctors throughout the journey of treatment.

Health experts say that in the future, better treatment will be possible not only through new technology, but also through a combination of better quality of doctors, emphasis on disease prevention, proper use of modern technology and sensitive behavior towards patients.

What do experts say

Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Medical Director of Shri Balaji Action Medical Institute, Delhi, said, in today’s time, better coordination between different specialists is very important for better health care. Be it cancer or any serious disease, with the shared opinion of many experts, it is easier to identify the disease correctly and better treatment can be planned for the patient as per his need.

Along with modern medical facilities, increasing awareness among people about regular health checkups and preventive screening will also play an important role in reducing the burden of today’s diseases.

There has been a rapid change in the field of technology in healthcare services in the last decade. With the help of modern technologies like minimally invasive procedures, patients experience less pain, recover faster and have shorter hospital stays.

Safe Health Care Facility

Commenting on this change, Dr. Atul Sardana, Robotic, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon, Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi, said, today’s patients want health care services that are safe, effective and tailored to their needs. Minimally invasive surgery has made a big difference in treatment outcomes. This reduces pain and patients are able to recover faster than before and return to normal life.

But good healthcare is not determined only by modern technology. “Sensitive communication between the doctor and the patient, providing correct information to the patient and better treatment, these three together strengthen the patient’s trust and make the entire treatment journey easier.”

Timely identification of disease is important

Dr. Tarang Krishna, Managing Director of Cancer Healer Center said, today cancer treatment is no longer limited to just eradicating the disease. It is also the responsibility of providing the right guidance, confidence and sensitive support to the patient during the most difficult period of his life. Timely identification of the disease, starting treatment at the right time, planning treatment as per the patient’s need and providing continuous emotional support play an important role in achieving better results. As a doctor, our responsibility is not only to extend the life of the patient, but also to give him respect, hope and assurance to live a better life.”

India’s health care system is continuously becoming stronger and with it the role of doctors is also becoming wider than ever before. On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, his contribution reminds us that the future of healthcare will depend not only on modern medical technologies but also on the sensitivity, humane thinking and dedication of doctors towards their patients.
