Naseeruddin Shah, India’s cinema’s one of the finest actors, who till date surprises with his performance, was recently present at an event celebrating 50 years of his debut film Nishant and also 50 years of his journey in the entertainment industry as an actor.
During the event, Pia S Benegal, daughter of Shyam Benegal, the person who made Nishant starring Naseeruddin Shah, expressed her happiness and great feeling while calling the milestone fabulous and also praising the veteran actor Naseeruddin.
However, when the mike was given to the actor, Naseeruddin credited the success of his journey to all those behind the cameras, acknowledging the real heroes behind movies. He said, “I don’t deserve too many congratulations for having done what I loved for 50 years. You know, I think, the people who carry the lights, and who carry the camera equipment, and who sit in the rafters for 50 years, they are the ones who deserve congratulations more than I do.”
And concluded saying on his 50 years’ journey in the industry, “I have had a jolly good time.”
Naseeruddin Shah started his journey with Nishant in 1975 and has appeared in over 200 films, approximately. He has appeared in films like Umrao Jaan, Aakrosh, Khwab, Hero Hiralal, Ghulami, Tahalka, Mohra, Gehraiyaan, Krrish 3, 7 Khoon Maaf, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, The Dirty Picture, and many others. Currently, he is appearing in Imtiaz Ali’s romance drama Main Vaapas Aaunga.
