When voting took place on the Nari Shakti Bill after a long debate in the Parliament, the result surprised everyone. The two-thirds majority required to pass the bill could not be obtained and the proposal fell due to opposition. As soon as the results came out, the atmosphere of the House became emotional and tears were clearly visible in the eyes of many women MPs. This bill was expected to provide greater political representation to the women of the country, but its failure seemed to shatter a big dream. At the same time, the political conflict on this issue has also intensified, where on one hand the ruling party is blaming the opposition and on the other hand the opposition is raising questions on the government’s strategy.
