Name of Rasulabad Ghat of Prayagraj changed, now ‘Chandrashekhar Azad Ghat’ will be the new identity; The proposal was passed 33 years ago

The identity of Rasulabad Ghat in Prayagraj has changed. Now it will be known as Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Ghat. Soon a stone slab named after Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Ghat will also be installed here. The change of name of this famous and ancient ghat on the banks of Ganga has been announced by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself. In this regard, the proposal to change the name was passed by the Municipal Corporation Allahabad in the year 1991 itself and sent to the government. The Mayor of Prayagraj again sent the same proposal to the Uttar Pradesh State Government, after which the Uttar Pradesh Government has given its recommendation.

Let us tell you that preparations for Mahakumbh have been started in full swing in Prayagraj. In this sequence, the Uttar Pradesh government has given the green signal to change the name of the ancient Rasulabad Ghat located on the banks of river Ganga. It has been said that the new name of this ghat will now be Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Ghat. The Uttar Pradesh government, while approving the proposal of the Mayor of Prayagraj, said that a stone slab in the name of the ghat will be installed as soon as possible.

The proposal was passed in 1991

According to the information, the Municipal Corporation had passed a proposal regarding this ghat in the year 1991. It was said that the name of Rasulaghat should be changed after the name of immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad. At that time the Municipal Corporation sent this proposal to the government, but no action could be taken. Now once again Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani approved the same proposal and sent it to the government, which has been accepted by the government.

As soon as the approval was received from the government, the Mayor has instructed the officials to get a stone slab made and installed on this ghat. Let us tell you that the last rites of immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad were performed at this ghat. In this regard, a memorial has also been built on the ghat, where related details are recorded. Keeping this in mind, the Mayor had placed a proposal in the House, in which it was said that the ghat should be named after Chandrashekhar Azad. After this proposal was passed, it was sent to the government for recommendation, from where it has got the green signal.
