More than a week has passed since the mega auction of IPL 2025 was completed but discussions are still going on regarding it. Most of the discussion is taking place about the performance of the players bought in this auction, who are playing in different parts of the world. At the same time, some such players are also making headlines, who did not find any buyer in the auction but are now responding with their performance. England’s explosive batsman Tom Kohler Cadmore is one such player, whose name did not even appear in the auction and now he made his team the champion by playing a stormy innings in the final of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
The final of this league, which has been being played in Abu Dhabi for the last several days, took place on Monday 2 December. The title match was between Deccan Gladiators and Morrisville Samp Army. Samp Army batted first and scored 104 runs in 10 overs. From his side, experienced batsman Faf Duplessis scored the highest score of 34 runs in just 23 balls. However, looking at the big scores being made in this T10 league, it did not seem like a very big score and ultimately this proved to be true.
Deccan’s openers single-handedly ensured the team’s victory by ending more than half of the match. Kohler Cadmore of England and Nicholas Pooran of West Indies opened for him. Puran was also the captain of the team. Puran scored 28 runs in just 10 balls and took the team beyond 50 runs in the fourth over itself. After this, Cadmore completed the remaining work. This right-handed batsman scored 56 runs in just 21 balls and returned after giving victory to the team. Cadmore hit 5 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. With this, Deccan won the title of Abu Dhabi T10.
The interesting thing is that no one bought Cadmore in the IPL auction this time. Forget buying it, his name did not even appear in the auction that lasted for two days. This specialist T20 batsman had got a place in the short list of 577 players but his name could not come up for bidding. Cadmore was part of Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Sanju Samson last season. However, this season was not good for him and he could score only 48 runs in 3 matches.
