Nagarjuna Akkineni Questions Tollywood Over Delays In Films’ Release; Gives Example Of Nolan’s The Odyssey

Nagarjuna Akkineni recently celebrated the success of his son, Akhil Akkineni’s latest flick, Lenin in Hyderabad. The makers hosted a grand success meet in the city, where the Telugu superstar greeted fans and delivered a speech filled with a lot of gratitude for showering love on Lenin. While addressing the crowd, Nagarjuna questioned the Telugu film industry for the delay in films’ release. He also compared Tollywood with Hollywood and said that Christopher Nolan announced The Odyssey’s release date (July 17) last year. Akkineni feels that people in India should follow such a trend to avoid delays in film releases.

During his speech at ’s success meet,  got emotional and thanked all the other actors and crew members of the Akhil Akkineni film. Apart from that, he also started a conversation on why films in Telugu often get pushed or delayed. For the unversed, Lenin was supposed to hit the screens on June 26, 2026, but it eventually hit the screens on July 10.

While speaking about the issue, the actor said, “If we hand over the film at least 2 weeks before release to the post-production team, they will carve it till perfection. This is not about anyone else; it’s about me too. I also worked on this film till the last minute.  was recently released. They announced the release date a year ahead.” He feels the Indian filmmakers should also adapt Hollywood’s work pattern for better results.

Nagarjuna Akkineni also revealed that the makers had completed shooting for Lenin before, but the post-production was not completed. The actor is concerned about the working style in the Telugu film industry.

On the other hand, Nagarjuna Akkineni also spoke about son Akhil Akkineni’s first big hit in his 10-year-long career. Before the film’s release, the Siva actor had visited Tirumala to seek blessings from the almighty for Akhil’s success.

Surprisingly, Nagarjuna also said that he found out later about Bhagyashri Borse’s prayer, which was the same thing for herself.
