Actor Shreyaa Chaudhry, known for her work in Bandish Bandits, has joined Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film Mupapa as the female lead. The makers have not yet revealed details about her character, keeping the nature of her role under wraps for now. Film marks a new theatrical collaboration

Mupapa brings together Yash Raj Films’ studio and Posham Pa Pictures for their first theatrical collaboration. The project is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 19, 2027.

The addition of Chaudhry gives the film another notable name alongside Ayushmann, although the makers have not disclosed how her character fits into the story. With the film still some time away from release, further details about its plot and the rest of its creative team are awaited.

Ayushmann currently promoting Udta Teer

While Mupapa is lined up for next year, Ayushmann is currently occupied with the promotional campaign for Udta Teer, in which he stars opposite Sara Ali Khan. The film, directed by Akash A Kaushik, has undergone a change in its release schedule and will now reach theatres on October 23 instead of the previously announced October 9 date.

The cast also includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, late actor Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.

Actor describes Udta Teer as a genre-defying story

Ayushmann has previously described Udta Teer as a project that returns to the kind of original storytelling associated with his career. Speaking to ANI, he said the film has a distinctive premise and represents a return to content-driven stories.

The actor revealed that he plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory. His character continues to retain a sense of patriotism but forgets which country he belongs to, eventually leading him to support India. Ayushmann described the film as a pro-India patriotic comedy that combines different genres and is intended to appeal to family audiences.

Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment team up

Udta Teer is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. The film marks another collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.

For Ayushmann, the two projects represent different stages of his upcoming theatrical lineup. Udta Teer is set to arrive in October, while Mupapa is scheduled for February 2027 and now has Shreyaa Chaudhry attached as its female lead. With details about Chaudhry’s character still undisclosed, the film’s story remains largely under wraps.
