Actress Munmun Dutta, known for playing Babita Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer in the long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has given fans a glimpse of the show’s familiar sets when filming is not underway.
Munmun shared a video of the empty Gokuldham set, showing its elaborate interiors and familiar locations that have been part of her professional journey for nearly two decades.
Joking about how different the set looks without the cast and crew, she wrote, “Sets look haunted eh when not at work.”
The actress also opened up about her emotional connection with the set, revealing that she often walks around the premises between shots and revisits memories from her years on the show.
“I take walks here in between shots, relive all the memories and I realise that I have actually grown up on this set. And how blessed I feel,” she wrote.
Munmun also used the song Saawan Beeto Jaaye in another part of the post, describing its emotional significance to her. “And THIS SONG will remain forever etched in my heart. I still shed a tear or two listening to this,” she wrote.
She additionally shared a Polaroid-style picture of herself from the set with the caption, “Somewhere between melancholy and peace.”
Munmun has been associated with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since its inception 18 years ago and has become synonymous with the character of Babita Iyer.
During a recent interaction with IANS at a press conference marking the sitcom’s 18-year milestone, she also spoke about the contribution of its female characters.
“Sometimes women don’t get that much importance. I am not saying it happens here, but it does happen in some places. We bring a lot to the show and to our characters. The women in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ are equally important,” she had said.
The sitcom, which has remained a television fixture for nearly two decades, continues to revolve around the residents of Gokuldham Society and their everyday experiences, relationships and social themes.
