In the year 2021, four people including Munavwar were arrested for commenting on Hindu deities during a show in Indore. In this case, Munawar Farooqui had to stay in Indore Central Jail for 35 days. After the intervention of the Supreme Court, he got interim bail on 6 February 2021.
