Mumbai Weather Alert: The Meteorological Department has warned that the next 3 hours will be dangerous for Mumbai. Heavy rain, lightning and winds can blow at high speed.
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Following the warning from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Monday. In this alert, there is a possibility of lightning, moderate to heavy rain and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour during the next three hours.

- According to this latest warning from IMD, the weather may remain bad in many parts of Mumbai. BMC has advised people to take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and heavy rains.
- Earlier on Monday morning, many areas of Mumbai, such as Bandra East, received pre-monsoon rain. During this time there was lightning and a storm also occurred. This rain not only brought relief to the people from the scorching heat, but also created problems of water logging and traffic jams in some areas.
- Meanwhile, entry of monsoon in Mumbai is expected by today or tomorrow (Tuesday). IMD will declare monsoon only when all the parameters set for it are met.

Warning of heavy rain in many states
- In its latest weather bulletin, IMD has said that the conditions are favorable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon. Around June 23, it may hit some more parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar as well as some parts of Chhattisgarh.
- The weather department also said that very heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Northeast India till June 25 and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till June 22.
- IMD has warned that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions may persist in Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh for the next four to five days.
- There is a possibility of heat wave in Chhattisgarh for the next three days, Telangana for the next two days and Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.
- According to IMD forecast, there will be light to scattered rain over Konkan and Goa during June 21-22. At the same time, between June 23 and 27, rain activities may intensify and spread over a large area.
- The weather department has also predicted lightning and gusty winds with speed of 40-50 kmph (which can reach 60 kmph) over Konkan, Goa and Marathwada during June 22-25. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over Konkan and Goa during June 22-27. (ANI)
