There will be devastation from tonight till noon

  • According to the civic body, there is also a possibility of strong winds with a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour in the city.
  • BMC said that high tide is expected at 1:45 pm on Thursday and 1:31 am on July 3. At the same time, low tide will be at 7:49 pm on Thursday evening and at 7:11 am on Friday morning.

Heavy rain continues for 24 hours

  • BMC also said that in the 24 hours between 8 am on July 1 and 8 am on July 2, the city recorded an average of 172 mm rainfall. The eastern suburbs received 189 mm rainfall and the western suburbs received 165 mm rainfall.
  • Following heavy rains since Thursday morning, many parts of Mumbai were waterlogged, causing traffic jams and affecting people’s daily lives.

  • According to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway, trains are late due to low visibility in many parts of the network.

BMC issued red alert in these areas

  • Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘Nowcast Red Alert’ for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places in the next three hours till 10:45 am.
