Madhya Pradesh State Traders Welfare Board has been formed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Its objective is to protect the interests of traders, promote exports and create a better environment for international trade. The board meeting will be held every three months.
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh State Traders Welfare Board has been formed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. This board has been constituted to fulfill the objectives of the National Traders Welfare Board created by the Government of India. The objective of this initiative is to protect the interests of traders in the state, create a better environment for international trade and encourage export activities. Through this, the Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department will further strengthen business facilities.
Senior officials of many departments included in the State Traders Welfare Board
The newly formed board will include a maximum of 10 members nominated by the Chief Minister, including the Minister of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department. Apart from this, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of many departments will also be part of the board.
These departments include Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, MSME, Commercial Tax, Finance, Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development, Public Health and Medical Education, Public Works, Mineral Resources, Energy, New and Renewable Energy, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Fisheries, Science and Technology, Aviation, Cottage and Village Industries, Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment, Horticulture and Food Processing and Tourism departments.
Along with this, CEO of State NITI Aayog, Regional Head of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Regional Officer of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Senior Manager of Container Corporation of India, CGM of NABARD, representatives of ECGC and Exim Bank, Regional Head of APEDA, Commissioner of FSSAI and CEO of State Rural Livelihood Mission have also been made official members.
Industry and trade organizations also got place in the board
The state government has also given representation to trade and industry organizations in this board. CEO of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis and Director of RCVP Noronha Administration and Management Academy have been made ex-officio members.
Apart from this, representatives of CII, FICCI, FIEO, DICCI, Laghu Udyog Bharti and other state level trade organizations and Chamber of Commerce have also been included in the Board as ex-officio members. Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation, Bhopal has been appointed as Member Secretary.
Board meeting will be held every three months
The government has clarified that amendments can be made in the board as per the requirement with the permission of the Chief Minister. The proposal for formation of District Level Committee (DLC) and its scope of work will be prepared by the Member Secretary, which will be approved after coordination. The Board meeting will be held four times in every calendar year, i.e. one meeting every three months. This will ensure regular review and resolution of issues related to traders.
