Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav gave instructions to start ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana’ soon. Under the scheme, 5206 buses will be run on 1164 routes. Besides, emphasis was also laid on formation of Road Safety Secretariat, ambulance network and modern transport facilities.
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in the review meeting of the Transport Department on May 21, gave instructions to start ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana’ soon to provide better and institutionalized public transport facilities to the citizens in the state. Transport and School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh was also present in the meeting. The Chief Minister said that it is the primary responsibility of the government to provide safe, accessible and convenient transportation system. He said that strong public transport system is the cornerstone of social and economic development of the state.
Transport posts and toll points will be modernized
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that the transport posts and toll points should be made more modern and convenient for checking the goods vehicles coming from other states on the borders of the state. For this, the process of integrating transport posts will be expedited.
He also laid emphasis on wide publicity of Rahveer Yojana. Also, instructions were given to run a special recruitment campaign to overcome the shortage of employees in the transport department.
Emphasis on mapping of road accident areas and ambulance facility in 30 minutes
The Chief Minister said that the accident prone areas of the state should be mapped so that medical services can be provided quickly to the needy. He directed that ambulance services of various departments should be linked to a common platform, so that the ambulance nearest to the accident site can be sent in auto mode and help can be provided in less than 30 minutes.
Madhya Pradesh number-1 in the country in PM-Relief and Rahveer Scheme
In the meeting, Transport Secretary Manish Singh informed that Madhya Pradesh is at first place in the country in the implementation of PM-Rahat Yojana and Rahveer Yojana. District nodal officers have been onboarded in all 55 districts under the PM-Relief scheme. Out of total 2,298 cases, 1,692 cases have been approved under the scheme.
So far, 109 applications have been received under Rahveer Scheme, out of which 49 cases have been approved. Particularly good work has been done under this scheme in Balaghat district.
‘M.P. ‘State Road Safety Secretariat’ will be formed
It was informed in the meeting that in the recent meeting of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety (SCCoRS), the successful implementation and promotion of road safety schemes by the Madhya Pradesh government has been appreciated. On the recommendation of the committee, now there is a separate ‘M.P.’ in the state. ‘State Road Safety Secretariat’ is being formed.
Officials said that in the financial year 2025-26, the department was given a revenue target of Rs 4,400 crore, while the department earned an income of Rs 4,911.78 crore. This is 111.6 percent more than the set target. A revenue target of approximately Rs 5,721 crore has been set for the financial year 2026-27.
Transparency increased through 51 faceless services of Transport Department
51 types of faceless services are being operated in the state by the Transport Department. This has provided relief to citizens from middlemen and ensured transparent services. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also congratulated the departmental ministers, officers and field staff for these achievements.
5206 buses will run under ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana’
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of ‘Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana’ aimed at expanding the transport network to rural areas, women safety and providing institutional public transport facilities to the common citizens. He gave instructions to put the plan on the ground soon.
Transport Secretary Manish Singh said that the scheme will be implemented in two phases. For this, the state has been divided into seven regions – Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal (including Narmadapuram), Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior (including Chambal) and Rewa (including Shahdol). In the first phase, about 5,206 buses will be operated on 1,164 routes in the next two years. A modern intelligent transport management system is being prepared to monitor these buses.
Buses will run on so many routes in different areas
In the first phase of the scheme, there will be 608 buses on 121 routes in Indore region, 371 buses on 120 routes in Ujjain region, 398 buses on 104 routes in Bhopal region, 309 buses on 83 routes in Jabalpur region, 344 buses on 92 routes in Sagar region, 298 buses on 65 routes in Gwalior region and 10 buses in Rewa region. 184 buses will be operated on 35 routes. The government said that the color of all the buses running under the scheme will be kept the same, so that uniformity is maintained.
