Chief Minister Mohan Yadav introduced a new model of smart policing in Indore by giving a big gift of 18 hi-tech drones, Traffic Sathi app and new police stations.
Bhopal. In order to further strengthen technology-based good governance in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated ‘District Drone Unit’ and launched ‘Indore Traffic Sathi’ mobile app in Indore on Sunday. During this, the Chief Minister included 18 modern hi-tech drones in the fleet of Indore Police. These drones will now become the third eye of the police and help in making law and order, traffic management and surveillance more effective.
Indore Police gets 18 hi-tech drones, surveillance capacity will increase
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that drone technology is being used to strengthen the police system. He told that the concept of drone police was first started from Indore and now it will become an example for the entire state. Through these drones, the police will be able to do crowd control, traffic monitoring and keep an eye on crimes. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also flagged off 10 new government vehicles for Indore Police. These include 4 two-wheelers and 6 four-wheelers.
Three new police stations will open in Indore, police recruitment also continues
In the program, the Chief Minister announced the opening of three new police stations in Indore city on the demand of public representatives. He said that the shortage of police force in the state is being filled in a phased manner. The Chief Minister informed that the state government is recruiting 22 thousand 500 posts in the police department every year and the recruitment process is going on for most of the posts. He said that police bands are also being established in every district of the state.
Strict message on law and order, carelessness will not be tolerated
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government always stands with the police department to maintain law and order. However, he clarified that unnecessarily harassing citizens or any kind of negligence in duties will not be accepted. He said that while technology is useful in the interest of people, it is also a challenge. Therefore, it is important to use technology responsibly and in a better way.
Indore moving forward on the path of development from heritage
Referring to the historical heritage and modern development of Indore, the Chief Minister said that the government is working on the vision of ‘development from heritage’. He said that Indore, which Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar had associated with the values of service, good governance and public welfare, is today becoming an example of technological innovation and modern development.
He said that science and modern technology are proving to be a boon in the direction of good governance and public welfare state. Madhya Pradesh government is continuously making efforts to bring positive changes in the lives of people and improve administrative services through technology.
Drivers will get great convenience from Traffic Sathi app
The Chief Minister said that ‘Indore Traffic Sathi’ app will prove to be very useful for the drivers. Through this app, people will be able to easily get information about better parking locations in the city. He said that this initiative is a big step towards a smart and safe Indore.
Police Commissioner said- ‘Now both crime and traffic will be monitored’
Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said that the 18 drones included in the police department are capable of covering an area of about 2 kilometers. These will be used for crowd management, traffic control and monitoring of crimes. He said that these drones have already been used to maintain law and order during Basant Panchami in Gair and Bhojshala. Apart from this, Indore Police has so far distributed free helmets to 4 thousand 370 people.
