Vikramotsav 2026 received the Government Event of the Year Gold Award at the BITA Awards. This is the third national honor of this year, which increases the pride of Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal. Vikramotsav 2026, organized by Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth, operated under the Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, has made another big achievement in its name. This grand event has received the third national honor this year. Vikramotsav 2026 was awarded the Government Event of the Year (Gold Award) at the BITA Awards 2026 during the Hindustan 2.0 National Chintan Shivir and Expo organized by the International Convention of Event Industry on 15 and 16 July 2026 in Dehradun.
It has been told that the BITA team will soon reach Bhopal and present this prestigious honor to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Vikramotsav is counted among the longest running cultural events in the world, which includes cultural programs as well as business events.
Vikramotsav 2026 has already won two national awards.
Earlier, Vikramotsav 2026 had also performed brilliantly in the Show of India Conclave 2026 held on 2 and 3 May 2026 in New Delhi. The event was awarded the Gold Award in the Cultural Live Event of the Year category and the Silver Award in the Best Government Participation in Live Event category.
The cultural identity of Madhya Pradesh got a new flight under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Cultural Advisor to the Chief Minister and Director of Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute, Shri Ram Tiwari said that due to the visionary thinking of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Vikramotsav organized in Ujjain has today created its own identity at the national level. He said that the event has now become not just a cultural event but a national celebration of Indian culture, history and heritage. He said that this third national honor received by Vikramotsav 2026 is a proof of Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage, excellent organizing capacity and acceptance of public participation at national and international level.
Vikramotsav is giving a new identity to the resolution of ‘development from heritage’
Shriram Tiwari said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state government is working to give a new identity to Indian culture on the global stage by taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution of ‘development through heritage’. He said that this achievement of Vikramotsav is a matter of pride not only for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire Indian event industry. The event is setting a new benchmark for large scale government events. He said that Vikramotsav has become a vibrant celebration of Indian traditions, cultural values and innovation and this honor will inspire to organize better events in future.
In the past years too, he has received many big national and international honors.
Vikramotsav has already won many prestigious awards. In the year 2025, it received the Longest Standing IP of the Year honor at the EMAX Global Awards. In the same year, at WOW Awards Asia 2025, it was awarded the Gold Award in the special category of Best Government Function of Asia. In the year 2024, Vikramotsav also received Asia’s Biggest Religious Award.
Vikramotsav 2026 reached more than 17.72 crore people
Vikramotsav 2026 also created a new record on the digital platform. According to the official report, activities related to the event reached more than 17.72 crore people between February 7 and March 24, 2026. Around 47.85 lakh people watched the event through official social media platforms and live streaming, while over 17.24 crore digital reach was recorded through content generated by the common people and various social media hashtags.
Vikramotsav 2026 ran for 139 days, became the center of attraction in the country and the world.
Vikramotsav 2026 started with Varsha Pratipada and Srishti Nirman Diwas. After this, Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan was organized with the aim of conserving and promoting the water element in Panchmahabhutas. This 139-day event, which ran from 12 February to 30 June 2026, presented a unique confluence of cultural, social and economic activities. The first phase concluded with the program ‘Shivoham Mahadev’ presented by famous musician Pritam on Mahashivratri. After this, in the second phase which ran from March 19 to June 30, more than 41 multidimensional activities were organized under the Jal Ganga Augmentation Campaign, in which more than 4 thousand artists gave their performances.
Grand staging of Samrat Vikramaditya Mahanatya in Varanasi
Under Vikramotsav 2026, a grand drama ‘Samarat Vikramaditya’ was also staged in Varanasi between 3rd to 5th April with the aim of spreading the good governance, justice and ideals of the great emperor Vikramaditya to the people.
