Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed gratitude for the approval of Nagda-Mathura Third and Fourth Railway Line Project by the Economic Affairs Committee of the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this decision is a big step towards strengthening the development and connectivity of the state.
Better rail connectivity to Ujjain and Kuno National Park
With the completion of this project, rail connectivity to major tourist destinations like Baba Mahakaleshwar city Ujjain and Kuno National Park will become easier and faster. This will provide better travel facilities to tourists coming from across the country and will promote tourism.
Logistics and tourism sectors will get a boost
The Chief Minister said that this rail project will give new impetus to the logistics and tourism sectors. Industries will benefit from faster and easier transportation of goods, which will also strengthen the local economy.
Big decision of Central Government: Multi-tracking projects approved
On May 5, 2026, the Economic Affairs Committee of the Union Cabinet took an important decision to increase the capacity of the rail network under the ‘PM Gati Shakti’ scheme. Three multi-tracking projects worth about Rs 23,437 crore have been approved.
Connectivity strong in 19 districts of 6 states
With the completion of these projects, rail connectivity will improve in 19 districts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This will reduce congestion on busy railway routes and increase the speed of trains.
60 million tonnes of additional freight possible every year
The construction of new railway lines will create additional freight capacity of about 60 million tonnes every year. This will strengthen the country’s trade and industry and will also reduce transportation costs.
83 lakh people will get direct benefits
About 83 lakh people of six states will get direct benefits from this project. With improvement in travel facilities, new employment opportunities will also be created.
Easy access to major religious and tourist places
Under this project, rail connectivity will be improved to major destinations like Ujjain (Mahakaleshwar), Kuno National Park, Ranthambore National Park, Keoladeo National Park, Mathura, Vrindavan, Mantralayam (Sri Raghavendra Swamy Math), Kasapuram (Sri Netikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple), Shyamnath Temple and Naimisharanya.
Project will bring revolution in goods transportation
This project will prove to be very important for transportation of essential goods like coal, food grains, cement, petroleum products, iron-steel, iron ore, containers and fertilizers. This will strengthen the supply chain and give impetus to economic activities.
