‘Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Parv’ will be celebrated in Madhya Pradesh on Guru Purnima. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav gave instructions to organize special events in all schools, colleges and universities.
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held a high-level meeting on July 20 regarding preparations for the upcoming Guru Purnima Mahotsav. In the meeting he said that the place of Guru is considered supreme in Indian culture. It is the Guru who takes man out of the darkness of ignorance and takes him towards the light of knowledge and science. He said that Guru Purnima is not just a religious festival but also an important occasion to pay respect, serve and receive blessings from one’s teachers.
The Chief Minister directed that in accordance with the spirit of the National Education Policy-2020, Indian knowledge tradition and Guru-shishya tradition should be widely propagated across the state. For this purpose, ‘Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Parv’ will be organized in the entire state on the occasion of Guru Purnima this year.
Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Parv will be organized from schools to universities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that along with school education, tribal work, higher education, technical education and medical education departments, active participation of private educational institutions should also be ensured in this event. Apart from this, sports, music, drama, painting and other art institutions should also be linked to this campaign, so that more and more people of the society can participate in it.
Instructions to complete the inauguration of all Sandipani schools before Guru Purnima
In the meeting, the Chief Minister informed that at present Guru Purnima Fortnight is being celebrated in the state. He instructed the officials that the Sandipani schools which are yet to be inaugurated should be completed before Guru Purnima. He said that Maharishi Sandipani was the guru of Lord Shri Krishna. He gave the message of nation building and harmony by providing education to all the students, rich and poor alike. Apart from this, he also had an important contribution in giving a systematic form to the Gurukul education system.
Special booklet will be published on the life of Maharishi Sandipani
The Chief Minister directed the officials to prepare and publish a small booklet of 10 to 20 pages based on the life of Maharishi Sandipani, his thoughts and his contribution to the Gurukul education system. This booklet will be distributed in all the schools of the state, so that students can become familiar with the Indian education tradition and its values.
Guru Puja program will be held in schools and ITIs across the state
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Guru Puja programs should be organized in all the government and non-government schools as well as Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) of the state. Local public representatives should also be invited to these events. He also directed that on the occasion of Friendship Day celebrated every year in schools, students should be introduced to the inspiring story of friendship between Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama.
Preparation to make Guru Purnima a public participation and cultural mass movement
The Chief Minister said that Guru Purnima should be celebrated on a large scale as ‘Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha Parv’, so that the new generation can understand the importance of Indian culture, knowledge tradition and Guru-disciple relationship.
He said that this event should be made a festival of public participation, so that respect for their teachers and faith in Indian cultural values can be strengthened among the students and youth. Besides, government and private schools, colleges and universities should also be made a part of this campaign. The outline of the event, various programs and responsibilities of the concerned departments were also discussed in detail in the meeting.
Cultural programs, student-teacher dialogue and competitions will be held on 29th July.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration, Culture and Tourism Department, Shivshekhar Shukla told that on the occasion of Guru Purnima on July 29, special programs will be organized in schools, colleges and universities across the state. These programs will start with garlanding the statue or picture of Mother Saraswati and Saraswati Vandana. After this, felicitation of teachers, lectures, student-teacher interaction, cultural presentations and various literary and other competitions will be organised.
He said that necessary guidelines are being issued to all government and non-government educational institutions. In particular, it will be ensured that literary and cultural programs are conducted by students only. Efforts will also be made to ensure active participation of the society, so that Guru Purnima and Maharishi Sandipani Shraddha festival can take the form of a comprehensive social and cultural campaign.
