Bhopal/Indore. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav welcomed President Smt. Draupadi Murmu at Indore Airport on 18 June. While discussing with the media on this occasion, he said that the arrival of the President holding the highest constitutional post of the country in the holy land of Madhya Pradesh and the city of mother Ahilyabai Holkar is a matter of pride for the state. He told that he got the opportunity to welcome the President along with many public representatives including Governor Mangubhai Patel, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister Tulsiram Silavat.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is rapidly carrying forward the works of development and public welfare. This visit of the President is associated with many important programs. During this time, she will observe the Cheetah Project going on in the Kuno area and will also participate in programs conducted to deal with serious diseases like sickle cell anemia.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the country has achieved decisive success against Naxalism. He said that effective steps have been taken towards ending the era of Naxalism. Development work has now gained momentum in previously affected areas like Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori and a new atmosphere of peace and progress has been created there.

Big step on Bhopal gas tragedy and Union Carbide garbage disposal

The Chief Minister said that the work of safe disposal of nearly four decade old waste related to the Union Carbide accident has been completed. This marks significant progress towards resolving long pending issues related to the Bhopal gas tragedy. He said that this step has historical importance for the state.

Global recognition received from River Linking Campaign and Cheetah Project

Dr. Yadav said that many big development works including river linking campaign have been successfully completed in Madhya Pradesh, which are being discussed in the country and abroad. He said that the successful operation of Cheetah Project has given Madhya Pradesh a new identity at the international level and the state has achieved remarkable achievements in the field of wildlife conservation.

Bhojshala dispute resolution called historic decision

The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Basant Panchami, arrangements for both puja and namaz were ensured in a peaceful atmosphere at the Bhojshala located in Dhar. He said that the decisions taken towards resolving the nearly 700 year old Bhojshala dispute have historical importance.

Rapid growth in medical colleges, education and health sectors

The Chief Minister said that new medical colleges, PM Excellence Colleges and many institutions related to health and higher education have been established in the state. He claimed that Madhya Pradesh is among the major states with lowest unemployment in the country. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states to effectively implement the concept of PM Excellence College.

Government’s focus on increasing irrigation, employment and per capita income

Dr. Yadav said that in the last two and a half years, the state has made significant progress in the fields of education, health, irrigation, employment and infrastructure. He said that a target has been set to increase the irrigated area to 100 lakh hectares in the coming two and a half years. The Chief Minister said that before the formation of his government in the state, the per capita income was around Rs 11 thousand, which has increased with time to Rs 1.30 lakh and now it has reached more than Rs 1.70 lakh. He said that the government is continuously working to increase the income and prosperity of the people of the state. Keeping in mind the target of Amritkaal 2047, planned efforts will be made to increase the per capita income to approximately Rs 22.50 lakh annually.
