“Samrat Vikramaditya International Award” has been started on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Individuals and organizations from India and abroad can apply for this honor of Rs 1 crore 1 lakh till 20 May 2026.
Bhopal. On the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, ‘Samrat Vikramaditya International Honor’ has been started with the aim of establishing the glorious memory of Emperor Vikramaditya at the global level. This honor is being considered an important step towards giving global recognition to the bravery, justice, good governance, charity, democracy and Indian cultural values of Emperor Vikramaditya.
This honor has been instituted by Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Institute, Ujjain in collaboration with the Culture Department. The amount of the international award has been fixed at Rs 1 crore 1 lakh. Apart from this, a National Award of Rs 21 lakh and three Shikhar Awards of Rs 5 lakh each have also been started. This initiative is an effort to give a new identity to Indian culture and tradition on the world stage.

International award of Rs 1 crore 1 lakh
Samrat Vikramaditya International Award will be given to those distinguished individuals and institutions who, through their works, have presented the ideals of Samrat Vikramaditya like good governance, justice, wisdom, charity, love for culture, scientific understanding and public welfare in a living form. The amount of this honor has been fixed at Rs 1 crore 1 lakh.
In which areas will be honored
Individuals and institutions who have done excellent work in the fields of justice, charity, good governance, astronomy and astrology, art, bravery, diplomacy, spirituality, world human welfare, social development, international brotherhood, upliftment of Indian culture, social innovation and propagation of Indian philosophy and Vedanta can apply for this honour.
Will get a prize of Rs 21 lakh in national honor
Individuals and institutions doing excellent work at the national level will be honored with national awards worth Rs 21 lakh. This honor will be given to those who have made significant contributions in justice, charity, bravery, good governance, astronomy and astrology, art, bravery, oriental literature, diplomacy, spiritual fields and creative public welfare works.
Three peak honors were also established
Apart from these awards, three Shikhar Sammans of Rs 5 lakh each have also been instituted. These honors will be given to active individuals and institutions of India who have made special contributions to justice, astronomy and astrology, art, chivalry, oriental literature, diplomacy, spiritual fields and public welfare works.
Eligibility and application process for the award
Who can apply
This honor will be given to such individuals and institutions who have made outstanding contribution in the development of era, world human welfare, social development, international brotherhood, coordination of all religions, upliftment of Indian culture, social innovation, Indian philosophy, religion, justice, tradition and propagation of Vedanta. Nominations and recommendations have been invited for the honor from individuals, institutions, sociologists, intellectuals, writers, critics, journalists and experts in various fields in the country and abroad.
There will be a high level jury in the selection process
Every year a high level jury will be formed to select the award. The Chief Minister will be the Chairman of this Board, while the Union Culture Minister and the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh will be included as permanent members. Apart from this, social workers, intellectuals, sociologists, writers, journalists, industrialists, jurists, archaeologists, doctors and other experts will also be part of the jury.
What will be the basis for selection?
The selection process will be based on high level of creativity, special achievement, continuous practice and contribution in the relevant field. At the time of selection, it will be necessary for the concerned person or organization to be active and continuously working. Apart from the names presented before the jury, the board may also consider other names at its discretion.
A person or organization that has received the honor once will not be given this honor again. The names decided unanimously by the jury will be sent to the state government and after the approval of the government, the formal announcement of the honor will be made.
