The delegation of Bharatiya Kisan Union met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday and expressed gratitude for the important decisions taken by the state government in the interest of farmers. During this, the Chief Minister said that the work will continue in the interest of farmers by considering the year 2026 as ‘Farmers Welfare Year’. He said that the state government is fully committed to honoring the food providers and providing them maximum facilities.

Government got support on farmer friendly decisions

Representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Union appreciated the many decisions taken by the state government providing relief to the farmers. The union especially thanked the Chief Minister for extending the last date of loan repayment from March 31 to May 31 and the arrangement of giving four times compensation to farmers in cases of land acquisition for various development projects. Union officials said that the decisions taken by the state government keeping in mind the interests of the farmers are commendable and the farmers are getting direct benefits from it.

Suggestions given regarding moong purchase and irrigation system

During the meeting with the Chief Minister, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh also made many important suggestions related to the agriculture sector. The delegation suggested making the moong procurement system more effective, completing the registration process for moong and urad crops on time and strengthening the irrigation system by connecting canals with ponds. State President Kamal Singh Anjana, State General Secretary Chandrakant Gaur along with Sarvgya Diwan, Lakshmi Narayan Patel, Prahlad Patel and other officials were included in the delegation.

Madhya Pradesh made a new record in wheat procurement

During the discussion with the Chief Minister, the delegation also appreciated the arrangements made for the farmers during wheat procurement in the state. He expressed happiness over the remarkable achievement of Madhya Pradesh in the field of wheat procurement. 104.36 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased from 13.42 lakh farmers in the state at support price. On the basis of number of farmers, Madhya Pradesh stood first in the country, while in terms of total earnings it stood second after Punjab.

Farmers got benefit of bonus along with support price

Wheat procurement campaign was conducted in the state from April 9 to May 28. In addition to the support price of Rs 2585 per quintal, a bonus of Rs 40 per quintal was also provided to the farmers. In this way, total payment to the farmers at the rate of Rs 2625 per quintal was ensured. Till now an amount of Rs 27 thousand 196.48 crore has been paid into the accounts of farmers by the government. This has provided economic strength to lakhs of farmers of the state and the agriculture sector has received new energy.
