The construction of the proposed 100 bedded civil hospital in Khajrana, Indore has been stopped due to non-transfer of land. The administration clarified the situation regarding recruitment, expenditure and construction.
Indore. After the news published in electronic and print media regarding the proposed 100 bedded civil hospital in Khajrana area, the district administration has clarified its official position on the entire matter. Based on the detailed report received by Collector Shivam Verma from the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), it has been said that the biggest reason for the delay in the construction of the hospital is the actual transfer of the land allotted to the Health Department. The administration also clarified that the services of the staff appointed for the hospital are currently being taken in other government health institutions of the city in public interest. Also, no medicine, medical equipment or other material has been purchased in the name of the hospital so far.
Khajrana Civil Hospital construction stuck due to non-transfer of land
According to the district administration, 0.700 hectare land of survey number 435/1/1 Packi of village Khajrana was allotted to the Health Department for the construction of a 100-bed civil hospital. But till now the actual possession and transfer of this land has not been received by the Health Department. Presently this land is being used by the Municipal Corporation Indore, due to which the process of construction of the hospital building has not been started.
Collector Shivam Verma assured to provide land
In the meeting held on July 6, Collector Shivam Verma assured the Chief Medical and Health Officer that action would be taken to remove encroachment from the land earmarked for the hospital and make it available to the Health Department. After the transfer of land is completed, the process of obtaining administrative approval for the construction of the hospital building will be taken forward after completing the necessary formalities. The administration also clarified that the Health Department has not yet received any order related to the administrative approval for the construction of the hospital building. In such a situation, it is not possible to start construction work in the current circumstances.
Posts approved for Khajrana Hospital, but doctors not appointed
According to the Chief Medical and Health Officer, the Public Health and Family Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh Government had sanctioned a total of 87 posts for Khajrana Civil Hospital in the year 2021. Of these, 29 staff nurses, 5 pharmacists and 1 lab technician have been posted so far.
Since the hospital building is not yet ready and hospital operations have not started, hence in view of the increased need for health services after Covid-19, the services of these employees are being taken in various government hospitals and health institutions of the city.
Services of health workers in other hospitals, salaries continue as per rules.
The district administration said that the employees who have been appointed for Khajrana Civil Hospital have been assigned work in different government health institutions as per the requirement. Salaries are being paid to all the employees as per rules and certification of their work has also been provided by the officers in-charge of the respective institutions. The administration also clarified that till now no orders have been issued for posting of any doctor for Khajrana Civil Hospital from any level.
Administration denied news related to purchase of medicines and medical equipment
The district administration has also refuted media reports which claimed large-scale recruitment and financial expenditure for the hospital. According to the report, till now neither any medicine nor any medical equipment or other material has been purchased for the proposed 100 bedded civil hospital. No financial allocation has been received for this from the senior office.
Administration’s appeal – trust only official information
The district administration clarified that all the work related to the hospital project will be done as per the rules and prescribed procedure of the government. The construction work will proceed only after formal transfer of land to the Health Department and administrative approval for the construction of the building. Collector Shivam Verma has appealed to the common citizens to believe only the official information released by the administration in this matter and avoid unconfirmed or misleading news.
