In Madhya Pradesh, under the Chief Minister Kanyadaan Yojana, a mass marriage of 400 couples was organized in Dhar district. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the program and blessed the newlyweds and provided financial assistance of Rs 49 thousand.
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is fully committed to empowering the daughters of the state and ensuring their bright future. He said that mass marriage conference is not just a program but a strong medium of providing support and cooperation to poor and needy families.
The Chief Minister was addressing the mass marriage conference organized under ‘Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Vivah Yojana’ in village Sirsodia of Dhar district on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on Sunday.

The Chief Minister said that this land of Dhar district is associated with the historical memories of Lord Shri Krishna and Mata Rukmani, which increases the importance of this event even more. He said that marriage is an important part of Indian culture and is the strong foundation of the society. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, playing the role of guardian on this occasion, showered flowers on all 400 newly married couples and wished them all the best for a happy and successful married life. He said that it is a privilege for him to participate in such events.

The Chief Minister said that marriage is a sacred and important sacrament in Indian culture. This is considered to be the most prominent among the 16 rituals, which is also called ‘Panigrahan Sanskar’. Through this scheme of the government, the worries of poor families have reduced and now they can consider the marriage of their daughters not as a burden but as a happy opportunity.

Under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, poor, needy and destitute families are given financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 49,000 is provided to newly married couples, which provides them relief in meeting the wedding expenses.
