Madhya Pradesh government had issued an order stating that Govardhan Puja will be organized in the state. For the first time in the history of the state, Govardhan Puja will be organized at the government level. The government has declared a public holiday on account of Govardhan Puja. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed all the ministers and MLAs to perform Govardhan Puja in their respective areas.
The main opposition party Congress raised questions on this decision of the government and said that this is just a pretense, because Govardhan Puja is already being celebrated in the state. Citing the poor condition of cow shelters, Congress said that the priority of the government should be their proper operation.

Another Congress leader Mukesh Nayak also raised questions on the government’s decision and said that the Kamal Nath government had constructed cow sheds during its tenure, but now their condition is bad. The government is not taking care of the cowsheds and is pretending to celebrate Govardhan Puja.

Responding to Congress, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma said that Congress people will worship only Sonia and Rahul. Praising the government’s decision, the BJP MLA said that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken a good decision. He said that this decision has been taken to make the new generation aware of the importance of Govardhan Puja. Attacking Congress, he said that Congress has always been anti-Sanatan.
